We are a student-led, registered non-profit organization dedicated to passionately giving back to our community and other communities in the US and around the world. We have successfully completed over 155 tutoring sessions for students from 22 cities and 9 countries Additionally, we have raised over $18,000 for 200 children, from 60 different families providing them all with medical care, surgeries, and the basic needs of clothing, food, and education. By partnering with local food banks, we have distributed over 100 fans to families in North Texas. Recently, we have been privileged to help support immigrants and refugees in desperate need of the support we are honored to provide. And, we have just begun . . .

Shaya
Jannati
Cofounder and President
Shaya is a proud Cofounder and Vice President of the Step-Up Society. Shaya is a senior, majoring in Anthropology and Human Biology with a minor in Global Development Studies. When she's not busy volunteering here or studying at Emory University, you can find her singing in a music room or practicing on the tennis court. She also might be playing with a foster cat that she is taking care of!

Jannati
Cofounder and Vice President
Sean is the current Vice President and Founder of the Step-Up Society. Throughout his education, Sean has been passionate about his activities. He was not only a member of the National Honor Society as Vice President, but also an active participant in canned food drives and other club-sponsored service activities. As a Senior Vice President of Treasury on the Executive Board of Cash Club Corporation, Sean developed and expanded his financial acumen through the club's many seminars, speakers, and interaction with other like-minded individuals. Congressman Van Taylor recognized Sean for his scientific impact on the student community by being awarded the Hometown Hero Award. His impressive resume bears out how lucky we are to have him spearhead projects at Step-Up Society.

Serving as Vice President of Step-Up Society, Pratyush, a sophomore at Rice University, loves giving back to his community. Apart from Step-Up Society, Pratyush enjoys singing, playing guitar, and teaching others through his tutoring sessions.
